Mental Illness Treatment Facility

Skyland Trail is a private, nonprofit mental illness treatment facility in Atlanta serving adults with a diagnosis of bi-polar, major depression, schizophrenia, anxiety disorders or dual diagnosis. We assist clients in gaining the skills and understanding they need to work, attend school, volunteer, live in the community, enjoy relationships and experience quality of life. At our state-of-the-art mental illness treatment center, our clients are served through a full continuum of care including residential services, day treatment, intensive-outpatient treatment, vocational program, case management and a social club.

The mental illness treatment facility at Skyland Trail begins with an assessment of symptoms and skills deficits to determine the most appropriate treatment program. Each client is matched with a primary counselor who guides treatment and provides support in setting and progressing toward goals. We use a range of therapeutic approaches to fit each client’s needs and learning styles. Group sessions focus on cognitive behavior therapy, support, skill building, psychoeducation, arts, horticulture and recreation. Clients practice their developing skills at the mental illness treatment center in the residential programs and the social program.
