Recovery Communities
Clients participate in Recovery Communities, which are primary treatment systems comprised of 10-15 clients each. Clients enter a recovery community based on their diagnosis. Community types are:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Major depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic illnesses - Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Secondary Axis II disorders, bipolar affective disorders, dual diagnosis - Dual Diagnosis
Secondary substance abuse with early, full remission; individuals who have recently relapsed - Young Adult
First break episodes of schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders - Social Integration
Designed to assist clients in reaching the highest level of individual functioning possible and prepare them for life outside treatment
Each community is founded on evidence-based practices and goes through a curriculum lasting 8-10 weeks. Primary counselors who are experts in certain recovery modalities work with each community, and multi-disciplinary teams integrate individual-specific interventions based on the client's overall recovery plan. This plan involves experts in nutrition, preventive medical care, psychiatry, pastoral counseling, adjunctive therapies and employment/educational services. As proficiencies are achieved, the client advances to a new community.
