Benefits of Laughter Chairs Announced

June 25, 2012

Skyland Trail announced the volunteer leadership for its 15th annual Benefits of Laughter gala, to be held October 17, 2012 at the St. Regis Atlanta Buckhead.

Skyland Trail is pleased to have devoted friends Mary Johnson and Robin Howell as the Event Co-Chairs. Mary and Robin are both active volunteers in the Atlanta community.

The Honorary Chairs for the fundraising event are community leaders and long-time supporters of Skyland Trail, William “Bill” H. Fox, PhD and his wife, Carol. Bill is a member of the Board of Directors at Skyland Trail and has held various roles on the Personnel, Program, Executive and Financial Aid Committees. Bill is actively involved in the community and has served on the leadership boards of the Alliance Theater, Lovett School, the Halle Foundation and the Atlanta-Fulton County Library Foundation. Professionally, Bill served as Dean and Vice President of Emory University’s Campus Life and later as Vice President for Institutional Advancement, now Development and Alumni Relations, until his retirement. Carol is a member of the Skyland Trail Associates.

Comedy entertainment for the event will be provided by The Capitol Steps, a Washington, D.C. based political satire act that began as a group of Senate staffers who set out to satirize the very people and places that employed them.

All proceeds from this “Seriously Funny Night” benefit Skyland Trail programs and services. This includes the critical Financial Aid Program created to help clients and their families gain access to and complete treatment at Skyland Trail.
