Skyland Trail and the Mardi Gras Ball - Good Times Raising Money for the Best of Causes
February 15, 2017
Skyland Trail welcomes the 2nd Annual Roswell Mardi Gras Ball to their 2017 fundraising efforts. The February 25 Ball will feature fabulous local entertainment, luxury auction items, and delectable food and drinks worthy of “Fat Tuesday.” Staff members from Skyland Trail are also volunteering to help make a grand success of this newest, must-do event in the Atlanta area.
“Skyland Trail is honored to be a beneficiary of the 2017 Roswell Mardi Gras Ball,” said Beth Finnerty, President & CEO. She continued, “We are proud to receive this recognition by The Voilà Foundation and to represent the Atlanta community that has helped us grow to meet the needs of adults and families with mental illness.”
The funds will help support The Mark C. West Financial Aid Program, which provides need-based financial aid scholarships to clients in Skyland Trail’s psychiatric residential and day treatment programs. While clients and families are responsible for a portion of their treatment costs, the financial aid program helps fill the gap and enables many clients and their families to access and complete treatment.
The Mardi Gras Ball is bringing together tireless volunteers and community doers and shakers to assist in the preparations. Sponsorships range from five hundred to ten thousand dollars, with VIPs garnering special appreciation. The goal of the event is to raise over $100,000 for the second year in a row.
Performances at the fundraiser are in true Mardi Gras style. The Off Centered Project and Shannon Stanley will entertain guests with Circus acts including Carnival-themed costumes, acrobatics, boa and fan dancing, and more.
Music for dancing will be played by The Ruby Red’s Band, an authentic New Orleans jazz and dance band. Ruby Red’s has been a wildly popular band at many venues in the Metro Atlanta area.
Trendy and crowd-pleasing, portrait artist Ann Marshall Bailey will create a Live Event Painting. Bailey’s event painting will be included in the live auction at the end of the night, and she’ll be adding the winning bidder in the painting, front and center!
Chuck Milne Designs is creating Carnival-themed table and room decorations for the event. Milne, an Atlanta Floral Design icon, will bring staging of a grand order to the event’s ballroom at The Olde Towne Athletic Club.
This will be the first time Skyland Trail is a beneficiary of fundraising events hosted by The Voilà Foundation. Tickets for the 2017 Roswell Mardi Gras Ball are limited – the event sold out early in 2016, leaving many would be revelers left out. Ticket buyers receive a tax-deductible receipt for support of the non-profit beneficiaries. Secure online ticket sales are available from the event website at Roswell Mardi Gras Ball
