Welcoming Spring and Raising Mental Health Awareness

Atlanta, GA – Skyland Trail, a nationally recognized nonprofit treatment organization for adults with mental illness, recently held its tenth annual Associates Spring Luncheon at the Piedmont Driving Club. Guests enjoyed lunch, a fashion show by Atlanta designer Abbey Glass and an inspiring speech from keynote speaker and mental health advocate Doris Fuller of the Treatment Advocacy Center. Led by Associates president, Diana Tipton, and vice president, Sue McKinley, the event welcomed 280 guests and raised nearly $80,000. Proceeds from the event will support the psychiatric treatment programs at Skyland Trail.

Keynote speaker, Doris Fuller, shared her personal experience of her young adult daughter, Natalie’s struggle with psychosis. Fuller underscored the importance of treatment programs like Skyland Trail to help young adults dealing with psychosis, depression, anxiety and other mental illnesses.
