Skyland Trail Collaborates With Woodlands Garden for Fairy-Filled Event

October 02, 2017

Atlanta, GA – Skyland Trail, a nationally recognized treatment organization for adults with mental illness, is pleased to partner with Woodlands Garden for the seventh annual Fairies in the Garden event.

Individuals from around the community will enjoy family-friendly activities including fairy-themed crafts, music, storytelling and a fairy parade. Guests also will enjoy the afternoon viewing dozens of fairy homes handcrafted by Skyland Trail clients and installed throughout Woodlands Garden.

“Woodlands Garden offers an ideal habitat for fairy homes and gardens and for the celebration of the talents of adults living with mental illness,” Libba Shortridge, Skyland Trail horticultural therapist states. “What I have witnessed is a different kind of magic where one's ingenuity, awe and resourcefulness give momentum to the parallel process of recovery.”

The fairy-filled event will take place on October 7, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. at Woodlands Garden in Decatur. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
