Skyland Trail Hosts Third RESPECT Institute Training Course
December 21, 2017
Atlanta, GA – Skyland Trail, a nationally recognized treatment organization for adults with mental illness, recently hosted its third the RESPECT Institute of Georgia training course. Eight graduates of Skyland Trail participated in the 3-1/2 day program and learned skills to transform their personal recovery stories into educational and inspirational presentations.
The program empowers participants to effectively describe their experiences with mental illness to aid their recovery journeys and dispel stigma. Through the training, individuals gain confidence and develop skills to share their personal stories in diverse venues such as leadership trainings, legislative meetings, employee orientations, university classrooms, civic meetings and continuing education programs.
The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Development Disabilities sponsors trainings throughout Georgia, through partnership with Slack Consulting, Georgia Mental health Consumer Network and Mental Health America of Georgia.
