The Psychiatrist of the Year Award recognizes a GPPA member who has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to psychiatry and has used his or her skills as a psychiatrist in service to the community. The recipient is selected by the GPPA Awards Committee.

Dr. Howard Maziar, a member of the GPPA Awards Committee, states “Dr. Kotwicki is well deserving of this award. His contributions to the field have been extensive. While his clinical, teaching and administrative skills are outstanding , it is his compassion for others that enables these skills to be so effective.”
