Skyland Trail Completes Renovations to Residential Campus for Adults 25 and Older

ATLANTA – Skyland Trail recently completed renovations and upgrades to the Skyland Trail South Campus, the residential facility for adults ages 25 and older enrolled in the primary psychiatric residential treatment program.

Improvements include new flooring, a new continental breakfast area in the community dining room, an updated community social room with a computer station, and spaces for peer socialization and visitors. Upgrades to private client bedrooms and private client bathrooms were also completed.

Residential clients admitting to Skyland Trail South typically stay in residential services for four to eight weeks before stepping down to the day treatment level of care. Clients may then step down to the intensive outpatient level of care as their symptoms and skills improve.

Additional renovations were completed at the Charles B. West Campus, Skyland Trail’s main campus where most therapeutic activities take place. Renovations to the gym included the installation of new recreational flooring, fresh paint, and adjustments to spaces for personal training activities, yoga and other fitness groups.

Personal fitness and group recreation activities are included in each client’s weekly schedule. Independent living skills groups focused on healthy eating and mindfulness meditation groups are also provided. Groups focused on physical health are an important part of Skyland Trail’s commitment to an integrated health model. The holistic approach to wellness complements evidence-based psychiatric groups and one-on-one sessions focused on specific mental health diagnoses and symptoms.
