Family Enrich Program Weekends
On the first and third Saturdays each month from 10:00 am-3:30 pm, primary caregivers ages 18+ are should attend the Family Enrichment Program.
Adolescents and primary caregiver(s) will participate in experiential family therapy sessions (art therapy, mindfulness, recreational therapy, etc.), psychoeducational parenting workshops, and a parenting support group.
The Adolescent Family Enrichment Program is designed for primary caregivers and supports who are over the age of 18 years old. The Adolescent Family Enrichment Program will have special scheduled events for siblings at least one time during your adolescent’s treatment. No care or supervision is available for siblings on Family Enrichment Program Weekends except when specifically noted for planned sibling activities.
Parenting Workshop: Parenting Workshop is a one-hour classroom style session that provides parents and caregivers with psychoeducation. The family therapist discusses common concerns and problems families may experience as well as specific challenges that may arise while their child is in residential treatment. A wide range of topics are covered, but workshops center around the program’s core values: engagement, compassion, courage, and resilience.
Examples of education topics: Understanding diagnosis, engagement in treatment & school, family roles, emotional identification, family values, mindfulness, courage & resiliency, caregiver burnout, healthy habits, empathy, crisis and safety planning, medication management, and more.
Parenting Support Group: Parenting Support Group is a time for parents and caregivers to come together to share thoughts, feelings, concerns, and observations about caring for an adolescent who is struggling with a mental illness and is in residential care.
