Southern Shindig Raises More Than $44,000 for Mental Health Treatment
ATLANTA – On Friday, August 28, 2020, Skyland Trail hosted the tenth annual Southern Shindig virtually. Through sponsorships, ticket sales, and silent auction, more than $44,000 was raised for Skyland Trail’s financial aid and treatment programs. Skyland Trail treats adolescents ages 14–17 and adults 18 and up who are struggling with psychiatric illnesses.
Virtual attendees enjoyed stand-up comedy from Aaron Weber. Participants also enjoyed and participated in bidding on silent auction items ranging from jewelry and art to unique experiences at local restaurants and much more, all generously donated by companies and individuals in the community.
The event was organized by a volunteer host committee led by event chairs India Waters and Farley and Matt Sirockman.
