Fourth Annual Skyland Trail 5K Run/Walk Supports Teens and Adults in Mental Health Recovery
ATLANTA – On Saturday, September 13, 2025, Skyland Trail, a nonprofit mental health treatment organization for teens and adults in Atlanta, held its fourth annual Skyland Trail 5K Run/Walk. About 300 individuals gathered at the J. Rex Fuqua Campus to show their support for mental health treatment, including former clients and families, staff, and corporate teams.
The 2025 event raised over $58,000 through individual and team fundraising in addition to corporate sponsorship. Proceeds will support financial aid for clients and families and mental health treatment programs and services.
In addition to raising funds for Skyland Trail and bringing awareness to the need for evidence-based mental health treatment, the 2025 Skyland Trail 5K Run/Walk also served as an official qualifier for the 2026 Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race. Medals, which were created by adult clients participating in art therapy groups, were awarded to the winners of various age and gender groups.
“Skyland Trail was the right place at the right time for our struggling 17 year old. In their safe caring environment she gained the skills needed to face her mental health challenges, feel like herself and once again have hope for her future,” said the parent of a graduate of Skyland Trail’s adolescent treatment program. “Skyland Trail’s holistic approach is facilitated by truly caring staff. We speak about the people at Skyland often and are excited to return to participate in the 5K and support this wonderful program.”
