EACH YEAR, SKYLAND TRAIL HOSTS several unique fundraising events. Each event offers a fun and distinct experience and an opportunity to support recovery for individuals with mental illness. We are honored by your participation and especially grateful to our volunteers and sponsors.

Benefits of Laughter 2022

On Thursday, October 22, 2022, Skyland Trail hosted the 25th annual Benefits of Laughter, which nearly $1.3 million for mental health treatment services at Skyland Trail. The nearly $1.3 million, a record amount for the annual event, will support the Mark C. West Financial Aid Program that helps removes financial barriers to treatment for adults and teens struggling with psychiatric disorders. More than 600 guests gathered at The St. Regis Atlanta. Attendees learned about the impact of art, music, horticultural and recreational therapies on client recovery and enjoyed a comedic performance.

Skyland Trail 5K Run/Walk 2022

Skyland Trail’s inaugural 5K Run/Walk was held on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at the J. Rex Fuqua Campus for adolescents. Nearly 300 individuals participated in the event, which raised more than $76,000 to support the evidence-based treatment programs at Skyland Trail and to help remove financial barriers for families in need. Thank you to the many teams, sponsors, individuals and volunteers who helped make the event a success.

The 2022 Associates Spring Luncheon was held at the Piedmont Driving Club on Friday, March 18, 2022. More than 300 guests attended the 15th annual Associates Spring Luncheon event, which raised more than $130,000. The keynote speaker was Amy Morin, LCSW. Morin, who is editor-in-chief of Verywell Mind, a licensed therapist, and an author, described strategies to modify thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. A parent of a Skyland Trail adult program graduate also shared her family's story of treatment and recovery.

Skyland Trailblazers Event Series 2022

Skyland Trail launched a new group in 2021 for emerging philanthropic community leaders called the Skyland Trailblazers. Trailblazers events in 2022 raised $45,000, which will be directed toward financial aid for adolescent clients and families. Trailblazers 2022 events included a mother-child playdate at The Peach Pit, a golf social at Intown Golf Club, a happy hour at RoundTrip Brewing Company, and a holiday shopping event at Odd McLean. Trailblazers engaged 57 members and 10 sponsors in 2022.
