Visiting Residential Mental Health Clients
Support networks are essential to sustaining recovery after residential psychiatric treatment. We welcome friends and family to our campuses during visiting hours to help our clients stay connected to their loved ones.
18 AND OLDER
Visiting Adult Clients
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we are asking families to please limit visitation and consider supporting their loved one through phone or online video chat when possible. Visitors are restricted to immediate family members and significant others in most cases.
Typically, unless clinically inappropriate we do not restrict visitation. However, if safety issues become an issue the treatment team reserves the right to manage frequency of visitation.
Visiting Hours at South & Rollins
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
- Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM
All visitors are asked to sign in at the staff office upon arrival and to sign out when leaving the campus after a visit.
Eating Lunch on Campus
Family and/or friends are welcome to join a client for lunch at the Charles B. West Campus or Rollins Campus. If possible we ask that the family inform the Primary Counselor in advance of a visit. The client lunch period is from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
The cost of lunch for visitors is $5 and can be paid in the food service line. Visitors should sign in on arrival at the front desk of the Charles B. West Campus or Rollins Campus and sign out when you leave. We ask that family and friends respect the confidentiality of other clients and abide by the rules of Skyland Trail when visiting.
With the client’s permission, family members are automatically included on a client’s visitor list. A client meets with his/her Primary Counselor to identify non-family who would be appropriate visitors. The Primary Counselor checks with family to confirm that the people on the visitor list would not jeopardize treatment. The number of visitors allowed for each client is determined by the Primary Counselor on a case-by-case basis.
