Kicking off May is Mental Health Month, Arts in the Garden is a celebration of people living with mental health disorders. Come experience the creativity, talent, and resilience of individuals who are far more than their diagnoses. See what’s possible when communities support mental health treatment and recovery.

All Things Arts in the Garden ...

For a $30 fee, Skyland Trail will provide one 3 ft. x 6 ft. table, one chair, and one tablecloth. Additional tables are available for an additional fee.

Limited scholarships are available.

Artist market vendor eligibility requirements:

  • Current Skyland Trail adult clients
  • Skyland Trail alumni (adult or adolescent [programs)
  • Individuals living with a mental health disorder or with a connection to mental health
  • Vendors must be at least 18 years old or accompanied by a guardian
  • Vendor tables must be staffed/supervised from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Types of performances:

  • music (solo, groups, or bands)
  • poetry and spoken word
  • dance
  • comedy

Eligibility:

  • Current Skyland Trail clients
  • Skyland Trail alumni (adult or adolescent programs)
  • Individuals living with a mental health disorder or with a connection to mental health
  • Must be at least 18 years old or accompanied by a guardian with signed legal consent
  • Content must be appropriate for an all-ages audience and approved in advance by Skyland Trail staff.

Art in the Artist Exhibit will be displayed but not for sale. There are no fees to display your art in the Artist Exhibit.

Deadline to Submit for the Art Exhibit:

Artwork Pick-up
All artwork displayed in the Artist Exhibit must be picked up at 12:00 p.m. ET on Friday, May 10, 2024, at the Skyland Trail Charles B. West Campus.

Eligibility:

  • Current Skyland Trail clients
  • Skyland Trail alumni (adult or adolescent programs)
  • Individuals living with a mental health disorder or with a connection to mental health
  • Must be at least 18 years old or with signed legal consent from a guardian
  • Content must be appropriate for an all-ages audience and approved by Skyland Trail staff.

 

Selected art will be used on flyers, posters, emails, social media posts, etc. to help us get the word out about the event. Art should reflect the event theme: Honor the Journey.

Accepted Mediums:

  • Anything flat that can be scanned easily: paintings, drawing, multimedia, collage, photographs, fabric art, etc.
  • Bright colors and strong contrast work best
