Annual Spring Luncheon Raises Over $110,000 for Mental Health Treatment
Atlanta, GA – Skyland Trail, a nationally recognized nonprofit residential mental health treatment organization for adults and adolescents, recently hosted its 16th annual Associates Spring Luncheon. The luncheon raised more than $110,000—surpassing fundraising goals for the event. Proceeds from the 2023 luncheon will directly benefit Skyland Trail treatment programs. Funds raised from the 2022 Associates Luncheon were earmarked to expand the patient outcomes research initiative. Patient outcomes research is an essential component of evidence-based mental health treatment services. The treatment team uses outcomes data collected from patients before, during, and after treatment as a tool to inform individual patient care and overall program improvement. The Skyland Trail Associates will select how funds raised from the 2023 luncheon will be utilized at a meeting in the fall of 2023.
During the event, co-chaired by Associates President Scottie Schoen and Associates Vice President Ruth Wellborn, an adult program graduate shared his story of how Skyland Trail prepared him for living and thriving with a mental illness. The keynote speaker was Doreen Dodgen-Magee, Psy.D., an author, psychologist, researcher, and speaker. More than 350 people attended the event at Piedmont Driving Club in Atlanta on Friday, March 17, 2023.
The 2023 event was made possible by leadership sponsors First Horizon and the Shaifer Family. Gold sponsors included: Around the Table Foundation, Liz Blake, Home Luxury Real Estate, and Shayla Rumely. Silver sponsors included: Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty, BlackRock, Anna Paré, MD – Dermatology Consultants, JPMorgan Chase & Co, Live Oak Caregivers, Nan Easterlin, Duvall Fuqua, Juanita Markwalter, Lorin Middelthon, Karen Parker, Patty Reid, Tricia Rosenbaum, Scottie Schoen, Katherine Strickland, and Betsy West.
