Fifth Annual Skyland Trail 5K Run/Walk Raises over $70,000 for Adults and Teens in Recovery
ATLANTA – On Saturday, September 12, 2026, Skyland Trail, a nonprofit mental health treatment organization for teens and adults in Atlanta, held its fifth annual Skyland Trail 5K Run/Walk. More than 300 individuals gathered at the J. Rex Fuqua Campus to show their support for mental health treatment, including former clients and families, staff, and corporate teams.
The 2026 event raised over $70,000 through individual and team fundraising in addition to corporate sponsorship. Proceeds will support financial aid for clients and families and mental health treatment programs and services.
In addition to raising funds for Skyland Trail and bringing awareness to the need for evidence-based mental health treatment, the 2026 Skyland Trail 5K Run/Walk also served as an official qualifier for the 2027 Northside Hospital Peachtree Road Race. Medals, which were created by adult clients participating in art therapy groups, were awarded to the winners of various age and gender groups.
“We really enjoyed participating in the Skyland Trail 5K Run/Walk as a way to give back, help others access treatment, and stay connected to the community,” says a 5K participant and mother of a Skyland Trail adult program graduate.
Skyland Trail thanks the generous sponsors for their support of the 2026 Skyland Trail 5K Run/Walk. City of Chamblee, Enewton Design, Shiplify, and Otsuka served as the Presenting sponsors. The Gold sponsors were Northside Hospital and Riley’s Wish Foundation. Silver sponsors included: Ansley Real Estate; Lundbeck; Shaheen Development Company, LLP; UDS Development Services; and Yancey Cat. The Bronze sponsors were New South Construction, CDC Federal Credit Union, and Kaiser Permanente. Media sponsorship was provided by WABE. In-kind sponsorship included the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta, Chick-fil-A North Druid Hills, Cinevision, Sutherland’s Food Service, and Propel.
