When I Put in the Effort, I Made Progress
“When I was in the hospital in Florida, I decided I didn’t want to be there and was going to leave. I called my mom and said, ‘Mom I’m discharging.’ She said, ‘No, Cole, I’m in a car. I’m on my way.’ She was in Dallas, and she traveled all night to get to me. Then she got me to Skyland Trail.
“My mom is the only one who’s been there consistently for me through my whole life. Thank you, Mom.”
Without Skyland Trail, I would probably still be in an apartment in Florida, with cockroaches in the sink, thinking about killing myself every night.
