Skyland Trail Artists Showcase Talents in Statewide Exhibition

ATLANTA – On Saturday, September 21, the Pilot Clubs of Metropolitan Atlanta hosted its 35th Annual Georgia Artists with Disabilities Exhibition. Artists throughout Georgia had the opportunity to display and sell their artwork to guests in the community. Visitors enjoyed various art media including painting, weaving, pottery, sculpture and photography.

Eight Skyland Trail clients and alumni participated in the exhibit and showcased their artistic talents through the support of the Skyland Trail art department. Artists won awards in best of show, distinguished merit, and honorable mention. Their artwork will be displayed in the year-long Georgia Artists with Disabilities statewide tour and exhibit.

Art therapy is a part of the adjunctive therapies program at Skyland Trail, which includes horticultural, process art, product art, music, and recreational therapy. Led by caring professionals who are experts in their fields, adjunctive group sessions help clients find new ways to express their thoughts and emotions, learn new skills, build confidence, and interact with their peers and the community.
