Skyland Trail Treatment Programs In-Network with Kaiser Permanente
Effective August 1, 2026, Skyland Trail adult and adolescent mental health treatment programs are in-network with most commercial health plans offered by Kaiser Permanente. The contract will increase access to mental health treatment for Kaiser Permanent members and families in Georgia and across the country.
Pre-authorization from Kaiser Permanente is required. Most client families cover the costs of treatment through a combination of insurance benefits and private pay. Financial aid is available to eligible families to reduce private pay costs. As a nonprofit organization, Skyland Trail awards more than $2 million each year in financial aid to help families access and complete treatment.
Skyland Trail is in-network with most commercial Kaiser plans, including Kaiser Foundation Health Plan HMO, Signature HMO, POS, and PPO. Adult and teen clients from across the country come to Skyland Trail in Atlanta for evidence-based mental health treatment. Kaiser Permanente members in Georgia, Colorado, California, Washington, Hawaii, and other U.S. locations are encouraged to contact the admissions team for more information.
Skyland Trail also is in-network with many private health insurance plans offered by Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Carelon Behavioral Health (PHP/IOP only), Cigna, ComPsych, Optum/United Behavioral Health/Oscar Health/UMR/UHC, and Humana Military / TRICARE East*.
Most Skyland Trail treatment programs are contracted with Kaiser Permanente, including adult mental health residential treatment, adult PHP treatment, adult IOP treatment, adolescent residential treatment, and adolescent PHP treatment. The Skyland Trail adult psychiatric treatment program treats adults ages 18 and older. The Skyland Trail adolescent psychiatric treatment program treats teens ages 14 to 17.
Specialized treatment is available for adults with mood disorders, thought disorders, anxiety disorders, and borderline personality disorder. Dual diagnosis treatment is available for adults with a co-occurring substance use disorder.
The adolescent treatment facility treats adolescents with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and PTSD and trauma-related disorders. The adolescent mental health treatment program includes integrated family therapy and education as well as academic support services to help teens make progress toward graduation.
