Skyland Trail to Hold Inaugural 5K Run/Walk Event in September 2022

Atlanta, GA – Skyland Trail, a nationally recognized nonprofit mental health treatment organization for adults and adolescents with mental illness, has announced the inaugural Skyland Trail 5K Run/Walk will take place on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at its J. Rex Fuqua Campus in Chamblee, Georgia. The family-friendly event is open to the public. Skyland Trail hopes to raise $75,000 through corporate and individual donations and registrations. Proceeds will support financial aid for qualifying patients and bolster holistic, evidence-based treatment programs offered at Skyland Trail.

The 5K Run/Walk will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the J. Rex Fuqua Campus for adolescents (2830 Dresden Drive, Chamblee, Georgia, 30341). The race route will circle through adjacent neighborhoods before ending back at the J. Rex Fuqua Campus for adolescents. Water and cheering stations will be located throughout the route. A DJ and emcee will entertain the crowd before and after the event.

Registration is required and includes an official Skyland Trail 5K Run/Walk T-Shirt for individuals who sign-up before September 1. Registration is $35 through September 1. Registration after September 1, including walk-up registration on the day of the event, is $55. Participants are encouraged to create a team with family, friends, or co-workers. The event is open to all ages. Youth under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. This event is not chipped or timed and is not a qualifier for any other race. Individuals who raise $100 or more will be entered into a prize drawing for a large Big Green Egg grill, a value of $1,200.
