Tera Carter, CPS, WHMC
Adult Alumni Coordinator

My name is Tera and I am a certified peer specialist in long-term recovery from a mental health diagnosis. Over the past eight years, I have worked through my own recovery by unpacking traumas, learning boundaries, reversing co-dependency, and practicing self-care.

I am very passionate about advocacy and empowering those living with mental health disorders to live happy, stable, and productive lives. I have led peer groups for several years with NAMI and am now a National Trainer. Over the past year, I served on the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Mobile Crisis Team which goes out into the community to assess and provide resources for individuals in mental health and substance abuse crises. My greatest joy is being a mother to my three children.

I look forward to serving all of you in the Skyland Trail alumni community as we work through our recovery journeys together!

Virtual Enrichment: Life Pie presented by Helen Goldberg

Thursday, February 8, 2024, 6:00-7:30 p.m. ET

In this activity, you will engage in the creation of a personalized life pie. The pie is divided into segments representing various aspects of our lives e.g. Spirituality, work, relationships, fun, etc. By visually mapping out these elements, you will gain insights into balance and fulfillment in different areas. The process allows for reflection in areas that may need more attention, fostering a more rounded and self-aware approach to personal growth. Through discussion and shared insights, we will explore strategies to enhance neglected aspects, promoting a more holistic and fulfilling life.

Please be prepared with a piece of blank paper, pen/pencil, ruler, and something circular to draw around e.g. plate, dish, or compass.
